Blueberry Flavored Tea
1/12/2011 11:56:06 AM
Blueberries go great with a variety of foods. I love the taste of blueberry muffins, pancakes and waffles. I enjoy sometimes putting blueberries on my cereal. I also like making blueberry smoothies. I especially enjoy the taste of the Blueberry Flavored Tea from Adagio Teas.

They have combined a nice Ceylon black tea with dried bits of blueberries. The result is a delicious taste of blueberry that actually seems to become slightly more evident as the tea cools. I've tried this as an iced tea and it is truly tasty and refreshing.

Try the Blueberry Flavored Tea from Adagio Teas. I think you'll enjoy it both hot and iced.

Cream Flavored Tea
11/11/2010 10:32:05 AM
How about a tea that smells as good as it tastes? The Cream Flavored Tea from Adagio Teas is all of that. Upon opening the container, you immediately experience the aromas of caramel or butterscotch or maple syrup. These scents linger during the steeping process and stay with you while drinking.

Combining Ceylon black teas with a non-dairy cream flavoring and hint of caramel, Adagio Teas has produced a delicious Cream Flavored Tea. It steeps to a beautiful golden amber color, mixing the wonderful aroma with a slightly sweet taste, making it a wonderful dessert tea that is a nice treat anytime of the day. It also is a wonderful additional flavoring to use if you like blending tea flavors.

The Cream Flavored Tea from Adagio Teas is absolutely one of my top 5 favorite teas. When I'm done writing this, I'm definitely making another cup.

Aloe Serenity Green Tea
10/11/2010 4:15:49 PM
If you are looking for a calming, enjoyable green tea, look no further. That's what I've come to expect from the Aloe Serenity Green Tea from Mighty Leaf Tea. From the wonderfully floral aroma that rises from the bag, to the beautiful golden green color of the tea, to the just slightly sweet taste and aromatic presence that surrounds each sip, this is a delightfully soothing delicious tea.

Combining a pleasant mixture of green teas with rose petals, aloe and inulin, Mighty Leaf Tea has produced a uniquely complex taste in their Aloe Serenity Green Tea. Wonderful anytime of the day, it is the perfect tea with which to unwind and relax.

I highly recommend the Aloe Serenity Green Tea from Mightly Leaf Tea. As I write this while enjoying a cup, I actually do feel much better about the rest of the day.

Try blending tea flavors for a new taste treat!
4/26/2010 2:04:13 PM

I have a real passion for tea. One of the things that I have been experimenting with for the past year  is blending different flavors of tea together. Some blends have been interesting, some not so good, and some have turned out very good. I want to share one of my favorite blends with you.

I have always enjoyed the flavor of cream in many of the black and white teas I drink. I discovered a very nice tasting cream-flavored black tea sold by Adagio Teas. This cream-flavored tea is a Ceylon black tea flavored with cream and a little caramel. It stands on its own as a nice dessert tea, but blends wonderfully with other teas. Some of the blends I enjoy are: blueberry and cream, cherry and cream, apricot and cream, lemon and cream, peach and cream, and strawberry and cream, all of these are themselves flavored black teas also sold by Adagio Teas.

It also blends well with many of the non-flavored black or white teas.  When blending, I start with a round 2 cup plastic container and lid, which is also what I will be storing the new blended tea in. I have found a 5-3 ratio to be a good blend. You don’t want the cream flavor or aroma to overpower the other tea you are blending it with. Put 5 teaspoons of your favorite black tea and 3 teaspoons of the cream-flavor tea into the container, put on the lid and shake for a few seconds to thoroughly blend the 2 teas together. Boil your water, steep for 5 minutes and get ready to enjoy your newest creation. The cream-flavored tea from Adagio Teas can make a good blending base for many of your favorite black and white teas.

Barnie's Cool Cafe Blues coffee
3/30/2010 4:50:53 PM

How about a richly-flavored coffee that is wonderful morning, noon or night, that is delicious hot or as an iced-coffee and that can be the basis for a number of espresso-based drinks? That is what you can expect from the Cool Cafe Blues coffee from Barnie's Coffee and Tea Company.

Barnie's has taken their trademarked Barnie's Blend, a medium roast of specialty arabica beans, and combined it with the flavors of rum, pecan, maple, cinnamon and rich smooth caramel for a New Orleans inspired taste. The aroma you enjoy during brewing follows to the cup for a rich flavor with a hint of sweetness and absolutely no bitter aftertaste.

I highly recommend trying the Cool Cafe Blues coffee from Barnie's Coffee & Tea Company. This is a delicious coffee enjoyable anytime of the day.

Green Tea Tropical
1/31/2010 7:10:53 PM
It's a raw, snowy, winter day, yet it almost seems like I'm sitting in an open-air beach front cafe on some sunny tropical island. Such is the far away feeling one can get while enjoying a cup of the Green Tea Tropical from Mighty Leaf Tea.

The Green Tea Tropical from Mighty Leaf Tea is a delicious blend of green teas and the sweet tropical fruitiness of guava and pineapple. There is a wonderully light fragrance while steeping that follows to the cup during drinking. The Green Tea Tropical from Mighty Leaf Tea steeps to a beautiful golden color. Each sip carries a slightly sweet taste with absolutely no bitterness.

Try the Green Tea Tropical from Mighty Leaf Tea and see where it might transport you.

Citron Green tea
12/21/2009 3:41:30 PM
Everyone has been hearing, for a while now, the healthy benefits of drinking green tea. If you have been thinking about trying green tea, I have what might be your perfect introduction: the Citron Green tea from Adagio Teas, a wonderful combination of Chinese green teas and lemon and lime flavors.

The Cirtron Green tea from Adagio Teas steeps to a beautiful pale green color. When you first open the tin, the lemon and lime aromas are very noticeable. However, when done steeping, you notice only a mild citrus scent, with just a hint of the 2 flavors in the background of the green tea taste, leaving a slightly sweet aftertaste.

This is a delicious entry into the world of green teas. I definitely suggest trying the Citron Green tea from Adagio Teas. I think you'll like the taste and I'm sure you'll enjoy the healthy benefits of this very pleasant green tea.

Mayan Chocolate Truffle tea
12/16/2009 12:01:41 PM
Herbal teas come in many types and flavor combinations. Because herbal teas are usually made from "non-tea" ingredients, most are caffeine-free. A truly memorable herbal tea is one that combines flavors in a way that makes you just keep coming back for another cup. Such is the Mayan Chocolate Truffle tea from Mighty Leaf Tea.

The Mayan Chocolate Truffle tea from Mighty Leaf Tea combines small chunks of apple, strawberry and chocolate with cacoa nibs and tiny flecks of chilis and red peppers. The resulting taste is really different and really good. It's ideal for anytime of the day, but especially as a dessert tea. The taste of the chocolate really finishes nicely, giving it a sweet aftertaste with just a bit of a spicy bite from the chilis and the subtle lingering fruitiness of the apple and strawberry bits.

I love this herbal tea and I think you'll also enjoy it. I definitely suggest the Mayan Chocolate Truffle tea. It's part of a 6 tin loose leaf chocolate flavored tea sampler set from Mighty Leaf Tea.

Rooibos Cinnamon Apple tea
12/9/2009 11:05:56 AM
As it steeps, my kitchen begins to fill with the aroma of the holidays. Just like the smell of turkey, dressing and pumpkin pie remind me of Thanksgiving, the smell of an apple pie baking in the oven reminds me of Christmas. So it is with the wonderful aroma of the Rooibos Cinnamon Apple tea from Adagio Teas. Yet, that's only the beginning.

This wonderful blend of cinnamon, apple and South African red rooibos tea almost tastes like liquid apple pie. Add some sugar and you're there. It steeps to a beautiful reddish brown color and tastes like dessert, due to it's sweet aftertaste. Because it's caffeine-free, you can enjoy it anytime. I know I will be serving this with dessert when friends come by for dinner. It also makes a very tasty iced-tea.

You definitely want to try the Rooibos Cinnamon Apple tea from Adagio Teas. I can see this becoming one of our year-round favorites, especially during the holiday season.

Ocean Drive coffee from Boca Java
12/2/2009 10:54:09 AM
If you are looking for a coffee that you can rely on every day, morning, noon and evening, then look no further. Ocean Drive from Boca Java is that coffee. From the wonderful aroma that greets you during brewing to the satisfying taste that follows every sip, this is a delicious coffee.

Boca Java starts with fine Arabica beans from both the high plateaus of Central Brazil and the coffee-growing regions of the Andes in Colombia for their Ocean Drive coffee. It is a medium-light roast that culminates in a full-bodied, bright flavor, finishing slightly sweet with no bitter aftertaste.

With a rich enough flavor for either espresso or Americano style coffee, I definitely suggest trying the Ocean Drive coffee from Boca Java. It's smooth, well-balanced and delicious anytime of the day.

Vacation Villa Vanilla coffee from Boca Java
11/10/2009 11:43:18 AM
Mmmmmm!!!...The rich taste of french vanilla, that's the first thing you taste when you take your first sip of the Vacation Villa Vanilla coffee from Boca Java. The slight vanilla aroma almost makes you think you just walked past a bakery or taffy shop. The taste of the french vanilla flavoring is slightly decadent but not so overpowering that you miss the great taste of the coffee itself.

The Vacation Villa Vanilla coffee from Boca Java is a light roast coffee that is very full-bodied and somewhat complex in flavor. It's a delicious brew with no bitter aftertaste that is good any time of day. It is another great coffee from Boca Java that I will experiment with to make different flavored lattes and other espresso based drinks. Full-flavored enough to make a good espresso, it also stands up to the addition of cream and/or sugar if your tastes run in that direction.

Try the Vacation Villa Vanilla coffee from Boca Java. It's a deliciously sensuous change of pace.
Surfin Safari coffee from Boca Java
10/14/2009 11:08:30 AM
While writing this review, I'm enjoying a little mid-afternoon dessert in the form of the Surfing Safari coffee from Boca Java. Categorized as a "Specialty Flavor" coffee, it's an unusual blend of aromas and tastes that is ideal not only after meals but really anytime of the day.

Using top of the line Arabica beans, the Surfing Safari coffee is a light roast that brews to a complex, well-balanced, very full-bodied cup with no bitter aftertaste. What makes the taste unique is the combination of flavors Boca Java has introduced: caramel, vanilla and Kahlua. None of these tropical flavors is overpowering, but you smell them during brewing and you taste them in each sip. I plan on using the Surfing Safari coffee as a base for a flavored latte.

Another in the Silver Sampler collection from Boca Java, The Surfing Safari coffee is a delicious change of pace treat I look forward to enjoying regularly.

Saggitarius Blend tea
10/6/2009 1:15:30 PM

Since saggitarius is the sign under which I was born, I decided to try the Saggitarius Blend, one of 12 blends in the Zodiac Series from Adagio Teas.

It's an interesting blend of Earl Gray Bravo, a Sri Lankan black tea (flavored with oil of bergamot), vanilla beans and cream flavoring. It steeps to a light-bodied, slightly sweet brew that is a relaxing treat in the afternoon or with dessert after a meal.

The vanilla scent is evident with every sip, yet not so overpowering as to intrude upon the pleasant Earl Gray tea. I suggest trying the Saggitarius Blend from Adagio Teas. I look forward to trying the other 11 blends as well in the Zodiac Series.

Palm Beach Passion coffee from Boca Java
9/29/2009 10:23:03 AM
I recently received the Silver Sampler collection from Boca Java. The coffee I tried first is the Palm Beach Passion coffee, and the name is well-chosen. It reminds me of the type of coffee I would expect to be served in a luxury resort, perhaps located in Palm Beach or some other beautiful vacation destination.

For their Palm Beach Passion coffee, Boca Java has combined both a light roast and a dark roast of 100% Colombian grown beans that produces a very full-bodied, rich-tasting coffee. It finishes smooth with a slightly semi-sweet aftertaste and a hint of chocolate running beneath the surface. The Palm Beach Passion coffee is wonderfully aromatic during the brewing process and rich enough to make a very nice espresso.

The Silver Sampler collection from Boca Java contains 4 different 1/2 pound bags of their coffee, along with a stainless steel scoop, a silver canister and a 12 pack of biscotti. The sampler is inexpensively priced with free shipping included. I really enjoy the Palm Beach Passion coffee from Boca Java and am looking forward to trying the other varieties in the sampler.

Aeropress Coffee & Espresso Maker
9/14/2009 10:02:18 PM
As I sit here writing this review, I am enjoying one of the best cups of coffee I have ever brewed. I almost wish you could be here so I might share the rich, smooth non-bitter taste that is possible using the Aeropress Coffee and Espresso Maker by Aerobie.

From start to cleanup takes less than 3-4 minutes. Heat 10 oz of water to approximately 175 degrees. This is the recommended temperature for brewing the best tasting coffee or espresso; hotter than this can cause your coffee or espresso to taste bitter or acidic. The best way to get to this temperature is by heating your water in a microwave and then using a thermometer, experimenting until you have the timing right.

After placing a filter into the cap, twist the cap onto the chamber and place the chamber onto a sturdy mug. Put 2 scoops of your favorite fine to coarse ground coffee into the chamber and then pour enough hot water into the chamber to fill to the 2 cup level marker. Stir the water and coffee with the included paddle for 10 seconds. Wet the seal on the plunger and insert the plunger into the chamber, using a gentle downward pressure. Maintain this gentle pressure for about 20-30 seconds or until the plunger bottoms out on the coffee grounds. Congratulations, you just made your first double espresso, or your can fill your mug to the top with the rest of the hot water for a typical American-style coffee.

Cleanup is simple. Twist off the cap and push the plunger the rest of the way to eject the used coffee grounds. Rinse the seal to remove any remaining grounds and you're done. You can even rinse the filter and re-use it if you like.

Coffee, espresso, lattes, cappucinos...all are brewed easily, quickly, inexpensively and with great results. I highly recommend trying the Aeropress Coffee and Espresso Maker by Aerobie. This might just be the last coffee or espresso maker you buy.

Serpentes Allegres coffee from the Organic Coffee Cartel
9/8/2009 8:52:31 AM
From the Rezende family farm known as Nossa Senhora De Fatima, located in Perdizes, Brazil, comes another wonderfully rich coffee from the Organic Coffee Cartel, Serpentes Allegres. Translated, the name means "serpent's smile", an allusion to a former problem farm workers had with snake bites. Today, snake bites are few and far between, but this coffee is gaining a wide reputation. Serpentes Allegres is a 100% organic coffee, as are all the coffees from the Organic Coffee Cartel which donates a majority of their profits to charity.

It's a medium roast, full-bodied coffee with a rich aroma, an almost smoky flavor and a smooth aftertaste. It definitely will stand up to both cream and sugar, should your tastes run in those directions, and would make for a great tasting espresso. Serpentes Allegres is a great eye-opener in the morning, delicious with any hearty meal and a compliment to any dessert. I would recommend this coffee to anyone.

Earl Grey Creme tea
8/28/2009 3:33:08 PM
As any tea drinker can tell you, Earl Grey tea is one of the most familiar teas in the world. It is the Earl Grey Creme tea from Teavana Tea that takes this classic tea one step further.

Teavana Tea, by adding pieces of vanilla and a light cream flavoring to their Earl Grey black tea blend  containing the essential oil from the rind of the Bergamot citrus fruit, has created a smooth, flavorful tea that is delicious anytime of the day. It steeps to a beautiful golden amber color with a slight citrus scent and no bitter aftertaste.

I've been enjoying Earl Grey teas form a variety of sources for years. The Earl Grey Creme tea from Teavana Tea has become my favorite blend.

Strawberry Flavored tea
8/7/2009 1:49:16 PM

The sweet smell of fresh strawberries fills the room as we enjoy a cup of the Strawberry Tea from Adagio Teas . Combining dried strawberry bits with a fine Ceylon Black tea, this steeps to a full-bodied cup with a slightly sweet taste and a delicate hint of strawberry flavor. You can definitely smell the strawberries more than taste them. I'm looking forward to trying this as an iced tea.

The more often we drink the Strawberry Tea from Adagio Teas , the more we think this will eventually become one of our favorites. Try it. If you like strawberries, it may become one of your favorites also.

Highly Salacious coffee from the Organic Coffee Cartel
7/31/2009 5:20:59 PM
While writing this review, I am enjoying a cup of the Highly Salacious coffee from the Organic Coffee Cartel. I wish you could be here to share in the experience. While brewing, the kitchen filled with a wonderful scent, one I could definitely look forward to every morning.

The Highly Salacious coffee is a shade grown, medium roast, single origin coffee from Limu, Ethiopia. It has a well-balanced flavor, slightly tinged with a lime fruitiness. Each sip ends with just a note of a honey-like sweetness in the aftertaste. As with all the other coffees from the Organic Coffee Cartel, which donates a majority of their profits to charity, the Highly Salacious coffee is 100% organic.

As they become seasonally available, I look forward to trying all the other coffees in the OCC's lineup. Very delicious, Highly Salacious...my favorite thus far.
Mango Flavored tea
7/24/2009 10:55:04 AM

While writing this review, I am enjoying both the taste and the smell of the mangoes in the Mango Flavored Tea from Adagio Teas .

It is a Ceylon Black tea combined with ripened, dried mango bits. It comes as a loose leaf tea and is part of a 4 tin flavored tea sampler set from Adagio Teas .

The color and aroma are very nice. It is a full-bodied black tea that allows the taste of the ceylon black to come through without being over-powered by the mangoes. It also makes a delicious iced tea, now that the warm weather is here again. I recommend it as a nice change of pace flavor. It is available online from Adagio Teas .
